When you’re stressed what do you do that helps you relax?
When life gets stressful it’s important to relax for a moment!! Life’s too short!! When I had my massive heart attack in August I felt totally overwhelmed when I came home from the hospital. There was cooking, cleaning and laundry to do, and a family and home to take care of. Instead of stressing about these things, everyone insisted I just look the other way and relax and take it easy, and I’m glad I took their advice and did just that!! Four months post heart attack, I feel better than I have in 20 years and take time daily to stop and smell the roses!!
Life can be extremely busy and extra stressful especially this time of year around the holidays!! Between working, cleaning, baking, decorating, shopping, wrapping, visiting friends and family, Holiday parties, etc, there just aren’t enough hours in the day some days!! Whether it’s getting up a few minutes early or staying up a little late, I have always felt it was important to set aside a little bit of quiet time for myself daily to keep myself sane and from getting too stressed out!! It definitely helps to take even 5-10 minutes first thing in the morning and last thing at night!! Breathing exercises are an excellent way to de-stress, help you to relax tremendously, and get focused during the day. You can do them while walking, driving or even waiting in line.
