A Wonderbag is an innovative, economical and unique new way to cook your favorite comfort foods.

Wonderbag was created to help ease the social, economic and environment impacts everyone around the World faces!

The Wonderbag is a slow-cooker.  It continues to cook food that has been brought to a boil by conventional methods for up to 12 hours, without the additional use of fuel.   There are no plugs, so it’s WONDERFUL for transporting hot dishes and for things like potluck dinners, tailgaiting, family get togethers, picnics, etc!!

With a Wonderbag you can cook pretty much anything that you can cook in a slow cooker!!  It’s perfect soup, stew, vegetables and all kinds of things!  Simply begin cooking your meal as you normally would by heating your food in a pot on the stove, then place the pot in the Wonderbag and let it do the rest.  Heat retention coupled with sealing your pot int he Wonderbag ensures the flavor remains in your delicious recipe.  Your meals will never taste so good!!  It expands enough that it should fit your largest pot without any problem! I made a HUGE pot of chili and it comfortably fit inside the Wonderbag with plenty of room to spare! It’s dimensions are 13.9 x 5.7 x 12.2 inches.

Now that I have started using the Wonderbag I can’t stop using it.  Tim gets home around 6:00 from work so I start dinner, put it in the Wonderbag and forget about it!!  I can jump in the shower or even leave the house knowing my dinner is safely cooking at home.  With Bella and the cats, I don’t think I would want to leave the stove or oven on if I had to run out real quick. With the Wonderbag I don’t have to worry about that!  It’s also great for those nights where everyone eats at a different time.  It keeps your meal hot and fresh!! You cannot overcook or burn food in the Wonderbag!

I made chicken and dumplings using the Wonderbag.  I made dumplings on the stove and chicken in a casserole dish in the oven.  After mixing them together with a can of soup I put the dish in my Wonderbag and let it simmer.  It was absolutely delicious!! It was so good in fact, I have made it twice this week.  I love just putting whatever I make for dinner in the Wonderbag!!  It’s starting to become a habit! It will also be great for the holidays to keep things warm when I have the oven and all the burners occupied!

You can also chill the Wonderbag and use it as a cooler bag.  Just freeze it and using the same temperature retaining technology it keeps your food and beverages cold. It will be great for the beach this summer!!  It will also be a lot easier to carry than an awkward cooler!

Wonderbag’s founder Sarah Collins grew up on the East Coast of South Africa. In 2008 when South Africa suffered a series of power cuts Sarah got frustrated with her half-cooked dinners and remembered how her grandma had surrounded her pans with cushions to keep them cooking after she turned the stove off. So she tried it… and guess what???  It worked!  From there the idea took off and the Wonderbag was born.

Wonderbag has many benefits in Africa…

  • Saves 30% of annual household income – saving money and easing poverty
  • It reduces CO2 emissions
  • Less deforestation because families need less firewood to cook
  • It reduces toxic fumes which means less respiratory problems and other diseases, particularly in children
  • It reduces time spent cooking, giving more time for child-care and other activities
  • It saves precious water. When the pot is insulated in a Wonderbag at a fairly constant temperature, less evaporation occurs, so less water is needed
  • It saves food. 20% of all staple food in Africa is burned, due to pots being placed on open fires and unregulated stove tops. With Wonderbag, no burning occurs

Wonderbags are available a variety of fun colors and patterns!!  You can CLICK HERE to buy a Wonderbag on Amazon. They sell for approximately $50-$55, and for every Wonderbag sold one is donated to a family in Africa.
